Grace aux recherches des bidonautes Fauvelus et Padre, il a été possible d'apprendre que le groupe néerlandais Beautiful People a été créé par le chanteur Jan Ten Hoopen en remplacement du duo Pol & Paul.
Il ensuite continué une carrière solo
dont le principal succès a été "Je bent alles" (1989) et il a réalisé deux albums intitulés Eerlijk zeggen (1989) et Warme Armen (1997)
Outre l'adaptation en français par Petit Matin sous le titre Les garçons arrivent dans les choux, Mamalou a été chantée en turc par Hababam Sinifi sous le titre "Hayirdir insallah (Neler oluyor hayatta)".
